Other people’s opinions are really the last thing you should worry about.
I always say that an opinion is like a bum. Everyone’s got one.
You can’t do anything with it, and you don’t want to.
You’re only the talk of the town for three days
I get that myself from time to time.
You hear something that makes you think: ‘I’d never do that myself.’.
But that’s as far as it goes.
Yet many people are afraid of what others might think.
For gossip.
What the neighbours might say.
For colleagues who talk behind your back.
What the family thinks of it.
And the in-laws.
But do you know what I’ve learnt as a content creator?
It’s surprising how short people’s attention spans are.
Today's news
When I started creating content and putting myself out there on the internet for the first time, I knew, of course, that everyone would have an opinion about it.
Personally, I have absolutely no problem with nudity; I see it as something natural. If my neighbour were to post a naked photo of herself online, it wouldn’t faze me in the slightest. It’s up to each individual to decide what they do.
Everyone is naked underneath their clothes; every body has its good points and its flaws. If you want to see it, you look. If you don’t feel the need to, you don’t look.
What’s more, we’re living in 2026, not 1863. So many people earn their money on platforms such as OnlyFans, Fansly, LoyalFans and F2F.
Despite this, I heard that certain people were forwarding my photos.
As if it were yesterday’s news.
And then…
Nothing happened.
After a few days, everyone was already on to something else.
People get used to anything, wherever they are
That is perhaps the most remarkable thing about people.
We get used to almost anything.
A colourful hairstyle.
A massive tattoo.
A striking car.
A special job.
A rather unusual relationship.
A remarkable divorce.
A naked content creator.
What seems shocking today will simply be part of the background by next week.
The greatest fear often lasts only a moment
Many people don’t dare to do what they’d really like to do for fear of what others might think.
Many people don’t dare to pursue their dreams because they’re afraid of how others might react.
But reactions have a shelf life.
Most people are far too busy with their own lives to spend months focusing on yours.
You think you’re the talk of the town.
They’re already thinking about the next person who’ll do something out of the ordinary.
Just keep turning up
That is perhaps the most important lesson I have learnt.
Don’t stop just because people are talking.
Carry on as normal.
Because if you keep showing up consistently, something special happens.
People stop focusing on how different you are.
And start looking at what you’re actually making.
Why you’re making it.
And that could well turn out to be quite a surprise.
No surprise
Whereas at first I kept quiet about what I was doing – not out of fear, but because I didn’t fancy getting into arguments – I ended up getting some brilliant reactions from the people I did tell.
Many people didn’t even bat an eyelid. Not because they would have chosen this profession themselves, but because it didn’t surprise them that I was doing it.
A number of women who by then knew what I did even said they were interested too.
Women from whom I would never have expected this myself.
A few people offered to let me do a photoshoot in their warehouse, their studio, their home and on their boat, which resulted in some fantastic photos.
It is indeed true that everyone has an opinion.
But it’s by no means always negative.
What other people think doesn’t matter
I think most creators will recognise this.
At first, you’re ‘that woman with the tattoos’.
‘That Findomme.’
‘That woman from OnlyFans.’
And one day, you’ll just be yourself.
Not because you’ve changed.
But because everyone has got used to it.
You’re only the talk of the town for a brief moment. After that, you’re just someone living their own life. And perhaps that’s exactly the kind of freedom so many people are looking for.
